Acadia Healthcare Psychologist or Lic Psychological Associate - Military Heroes Unit in Wichita Falls, Texas

Our Psychologists are valuable members of the treatment-based team, requiring strong assessment and treatment skills.

Psychologist will carry an active caseload and provide/complete patient testing.

Our Psychologists:

  • Meet with assigned patients to orient the patient and explain treatment goals and/or expectations.

  • Provide age-appropriate assessment, care, and intervention and effectively apply established interventions with patients and document results per program requirements.

  • Initiate contact with relevant family members and outpatient providers, after signed release has been obtained, to develop and implement care plan and coordinate discharge planning.

  • Document all activities related to assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.

  • Provide individual and family therapy for assigned patients per program schedule and document per program requirements.

  • Seek clinical supervision and support when complications arise in therapeutic setting or therapy sessions.

  • Facilitate specialized interventions when needed.

  • Assist in compiling materials for use in group therapy and/or educational/informational sessions.

  • Facilitate activities that are appropriate to age, development, needs and interests of the patients served.

  • Support program schedule by conducting assigned components and maintaining group therapy/education schedule.

  • Complete syllabus or lesson plan for didactic groups and document as required.

  • All group facilitation responsibilities are based on arrangements made by the unit Program Director and/or the Director of Clinical Services.

  • Attend interdisciplinary team meetings to participate in adequate treatment planning for individual patients.

  • Serve as primary case manager for the treatment team with the patient, family, case workers, outpatient case managers, and other professionals.

  • Maintain a positive relationship and information exchanges with patients and families.

  • Interact professionally and respectfully with patients, family members, external entities, and internal staff members.
